Depression can be manifested in many ways and there are multiple causes for it. Generally, it is caused by genetic factors like the malfunction of neurotransmitters like serotonin and norepinephrine.
W can use a large repertoire of musical compositions to alleviate depression, such as Bach, who’s music is considered by G Duhamel, a famous medically trained writer, to be soothing and harmonizing. Music that is stimulating, heroic, can also have a positive influence on our mood and mobilize us. For example, Ravel’s “Bolero” or Mehndelsson’s “Fruhlingslied” are recommended by the American music therapist Paperte, as well as Mozart or Haydn. Beethoven’s music is known to have an energizing and mobilizing effect.
